This song "I surrender all" Has been sung thousands of times by thousands of Christians. If the people who claim to be Christians who sing and verbally say these words actually applied them. I can almost guarantee America would not be in the state it is in today. Matthew 15:8-9 These people draw near to me with their mouth, And honor me with their lips, But their heart is far from me. And in vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.

I look around and see young adults who once dedicated their life to Christ now living a worldly and ungodly life...This question comes to mind "Did they truly ever surrender their life to the One (Jesus Christ) who died to set them free?"

Everyday is a battle against flesh. As we wake up each morning we NEED to pick up our cross and follow Him.

The devil is after the Lord's sheep. The closer we grow to Christ the harder the devil is going to try to attack. The devil already has the sinners, he wants Christ's church.

We all struggle with surrendering, it is part of our sin nature.

Praise the Lord He is strong and mighty to help us. We must surrender each and everyday, not my will but thine oh Lord.

If we as Christians "surrendered" (2006 Websters dictionary) to give up of oneself or possessions to another.) fully to the Lord Jesus Christ our life would look and be different from the world around us. I guess you could say we would be counter cultural and set apart!

Sadly the devil uses tools to blind us, entice us, and ultimately win us over. We must be very careful in the way that we live. Philippians 4:8 Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.

One of the greatest gifts there is is sight. Physically and spiritually. With sight comes great responsibility. The oohs and ahhs of this world are always flaunting themselves at us. None of them will ever satisfy and all of them will one day be destroyed!

There is only one thing in this world that will ever last and that is people who are born again. Sadly we get to caught up in the things of this life that are passing away and sadly pulling us away from the Father. That we have stinky relationships with family, we have two faced relationships with friends, and we tend to not care about all the other millions that live on this planet. When in the End relationships are the only thing that will matter!

God's first command to Adam and Eve was "be fruitful and multiply".

Jesus' last command to us before He went to prepare a place for us was "Go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy spirit.

As Christians who have given our life's to Christ. We should live by these commands!

We could not carry out the second command if the first command (be fruitful and multiply) was not followed.

I am thankful for these commands. Because of the first command I am here and alive, because of the second command I can live forever!

Sadly Christians are controlling their own womb. They say to God here's my life...well except this area God I can take care of it...no if you will just take care of that I will take care of this.

And yet the song thousands of them have sang goes like this..."All to Jesus I surrender; All to Him I freely give; I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live."

In 2002 the "Southern baptist council on the family" did a survey on young adults who have grown up in the Church with a profession of faith and call themselves born again evangelicals. 88% of them drop out of church by the end of their freshmen year in college.

The birth rate in America is 1.8 per couple...are culture is dying! The birthrate of Muslims is 6 children per couple.

The fact of the matter is with 75% of Christians at their freshmen year in college leaving the church. It is going to take 2 christian families to get 1 single Christian into the next generation.

We need to get back to the first command God gave us in the beginning. Be fruitful and multiply.

I can tell you right now being the oldest of 11 children it isn't always easy. But God didn't promise us an easy life either.

Part of it is the nasty remarks people say to my parents in front of the little ones. People laughing at my siblings getting out of a fifteen passenger van. People always counting you wherever you go. The ignorant questions people ask...the three questions I loath most are "do you like being in a big family?" or "do you and your siblings ever fight?" or "do you want to have a big family someday?" My awnser to all these are YES!!!

My little brother Jonathan was born with down syndrome. Early on in my Mother's pregnancy the Doctors saw that Jonathan would be handicapped. When they presented this to my parents they asked if they wanted to terminate the pregnancy. My parents knowing children are a blessing from the Lord and a privilege to raise, that their immediate answer was no!

I am so thankful for the choice they made over 13 yrs. ago.

Our Travel Up North.

Hello ya'll! This is Rebekah :) To all our Readers...*Sorry* that our blog has been so quiet. We have been preoccupied. We just got back from traveling. We had an amazing trip! Visiting with loved ones and meeting new friends. God is so good! So here is a glimpse of our traveling adventures:)

Trust is a big word Eh? (as our Canadian friends would say)

Trust is something you can't control, but Someone else can. Trust is a combination of hope and faith. God has been ever present in my life and I am so very thankful too that He is! I am defiantly a sinner saved by His grace. It would be harder for me to believe He doesn't exist than to believe He does. Sadly I still lacked trusting Him. I was going through a time where I wanted to be in control. I'm one who likes to know what's going on or what is going to happen.

I can remember the day so vividly when He spoke to me. God has always answered me. He has always either given me a peace about something or He has not given me a peace, and in that I know it was not His will for whatever the circumstance may have been. But this time I actually heard the voice of God. It was a soft loving and caring whisper that said...Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, And lean not on thine own understanding; In all thine ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Though I had read these verses many times I had never memorized or meditated on them. I was in awe! I had to go look up these verses and meditate on them and memorize it! These verses are so precious to me. I believe scripture is God breathed and I believe the the Bible is the living word of God. He used scripture to speak to me. It makes me want to memorize as many verses as I can. Because I know He will whisper verses to me when my faith needs strengthening.I pray that my life would reflect Proverbs 3:5-6.

I pray people would see that I trust God with all my heart and that I push away my fleshly understanding. I pray my whole life spent on earth is spent acknowledging (taken from 2006 Webster Dictionary "Acknowledge" 1. admit as true, 2. admit the authority, 3. express thanks for) God. I know that I know that I know He will direct my paths cause He already has and is!

The Hoppers

Monday night we went to see The Hoppers. It was a wonderful concert and we really enjoyed it. The Hoppers are a family group and their voices are so amazing, they have been a round for 50 years.

It was such a blessing because they held a drawing at the end of the concert and they were giving out Cd's and DVDs, and the big prize was two tickets to The National Quartet Convention. Well, Rebekah won the tickets to the Convention!!! We were all really excited. Rebekah loves Southern Gospel Music the most, so we were really happy for her!

By delighting in Him He gave me the desires of my heart. No...wait He gave me the desires of HIS heart. All of the desires I desired He slowly changed to His. The things I once desired so much, are not so bright and pretty after all. In fact I have no desire for them at all!

If He had have given me my desires and not His. I would still desire more and more, because only His can fill and give peace!

Not only am I satisfied and content but my relationship has grown with Jesus Christ!

Have I stopped delighting in Him? No way! I still need to be filled with His desires.

I started off using this verse for my selfish desires. To me I thought they were good desires...but they were MINE. Slowly those desires faded away and disappeared. New desires came and I found they were not mine but His He had given me!

I've heard all my life God has a sense of humor! But I didn't know He plays tricks on people?!? That's how he got me! Delighting in Him He gave me His desires.

I could not be more filled with joy, peace, and contentment than I am now!

It's like that song...Turn your eyes upon Jesus look full in His wonderful face and the things of this earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace!

Meeting Friends

This has been a season of meeting new friends. Yes it's great to write letters, skype, and e-mail. But meeting in person is so much better!

Our parents meet the Burke family last summer when Mr. Burke taught our Dad to sharpen blades/scissors.

Our families have kept in contact via letters and phone calls. In October Elizabeth finally got to meet Kaeley! It was a surprise! Both families had no clue that the other was at the same conference. They ran into each other during a sessions break.

On our way back from our trip to Florida we were able to meet our good friends the Kautts in person. We met through the blog world and stayed in contact by e-mailing, skyping, and letter writing. When they told us they were going to be in Atlanta we were thrilled! We met up at the convention center in Atlanta where they had a booth set up for the National Missionary Conference.

Vacation in Florida

Back in November we took a family trip down to Florida. We had such a wonderful time. God blessed us with good weather too!

Wedding Pictures

We sisters had the privilege of photographing a wedding!

God orchestrated the whole thing.

Early October a man we had never met walked into our grooming shop.

Long story short...he was a childhood friend of our Dad's. He came in knowing that our Dad use to be a professional photographer. He was going to ask Dad if he would photograph he and his fiance's wedding.

Dad prayed about it and came back to him asking if he would like us to do it?

The man said YES!

Wow were we excited and nervous!

The bride and groom to be came up with our name "3-D Photography".

3 means the 3 of us and D is for daughters since we still live under our fathers roof.

Their love story is amazing!

An Elder from our church read this passage of scripture yesterday, and said something that really made me think. He asked/said....Are we one of the nine who goes about and forgets to give thanks for our blessings? Or our we that one who gives God glory and thanks Him for what He dose for us?

It's easy for us to give God thanks at Thanksgiving but what about the other 364 days? I think we could all work on giving the Lord more praise and thanks because truly we are not worthy.

Yummy caramel apples!

For our little brother Stephen's 9th birthday we made caramel apples. They were delicious! The recipe is below. Enjoy and be Creative!

Ingredients:
5 large apples
wooden craft sticks
1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
2 tablespoons water
7 ounces chocolate candy bar, broken into pieces
2 tablespoons shortening, divided
1 cup colored candy coating melts

(we used white chocolate for dipping. For candy we used colored sprinkles, walnuts, Reese pieces, coconut, and chocolate sprinkles)

1. bring a large pot of water to a boil. Dip apples into boiling water briefly, using a slotted spoon, to remove any wax that may be present. Wipe dry, and set aside to cool. Insert sticks into the apples through the cores.
2. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper and coat with cooking spray. Place the unwrapped caramels into a microwave-safe medium bowl along with two tablespoons of water. Cook on high for two minutes, then stir and continue cooking and stirring at 1 minute intervals until caramel is melted and smooth.

3. Hold apples by the stick, and dip into caramel to coat. set on waxed paper; refrigerate for about 15 minutes to set.
4. Heat the chocolate with 1 tablespoon of shortening in a microwave-safe bowl until melted and smooth. Dip apples into the chocolate to cover the layer of caramel. Roll apples into candies. Return to the wax paper to set and refrigerate 20 minutes.

It was gloomy outside today, but the flowers were so beautiful! So I decided I would venture outside to take some photos. After I uploaded the pictures to the computer I thought it might be fun to try out some photo editing!

So I spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to edit photos and it was a lot of fun. We have never edited photos before today...and well we just might start doing it every once in a while.

I went crazy with this last picture!

The Perfect Piece

Mary Ann is our youngest sister she turned 5 months old on the 8th of this month. I had been praying for more sisters from the time I was 11 years old. The Lord is so good He knew the perfect time to send this bundle of joy. As I was thinking back...... I have not always been happy about not having/getting things in "MY'' timing. But I see now that the Lords time is ALWAYS BEST! Like when William and Wesley were born I remember thinking...I wish they were a girl/ sister. Now I see how sad our family would be without William and Wesley in it. Our Family is like one big puzzle every one is an important piece and you can't finish the picture with out one. Also with out one of them the finished picture would not be complete. I am thankful for every person in our family......and every thing the are. We are defiantly a TEAM there is no "I" in TEAM and really there should be no "I" in Family! I love spending time with all my brothers and sisters, I'm really enjoying Mary Ann right now her smile brightens up my day. I love you Mary Ann!

Though many miles keep us apart, it's amazing how close we can be at the Heart. You and I live so far apart you see, that it's hard for me to visit on such a special day as this. Everyday I think of you as a gift.... you have given me something very special, your friendship that is all I need from you. The sun shines out of you every time you smile you can make a rainy day sunny, I think every one would agree. The foundation of our friendship is based on Jesus Christ, it amazes me how He put two girls together like you and I. I hope your day is blessed, and welcome you to the world of being 18. I still can't believe I've only known 3 years for it seems like I have known you more like 18:) I love you Megan.

Saturday Night

Saturday evening at 6:00pm we all went to The Isaacs and Gordon Mote concert. It was really nice because it was in our home town, (usually we have to travel 30 minutes away). Our whole family loves gospel music and everyone was very excited to get to go. We got really good seats and the concert was great.

Here is Gordon Mote, he is blind and plays the piano, he gives all the glory to God.

Here are the Isaacs singing. I love how the whole family sings and travels together. They seem like a really close family.

Our Trip to the Gatlinburg Gathering

Well, here is the post about our trip to the Great Smokey Mountains. We only live two hours away from these beautiful mountains. In June our Grandparents asked us girls if we would like to join them on a trip to Gatlinburg. Since, we like the same kind of music they were telling us about the Gatlinburg Gathering a weekend of concerts. They started on Thursday and ended Sunday night. We talked it over with our parents, it would be Labor Day weekend (this is a really busy weekend for our boarding business). Our parents were so sweet, and our brothers were very unselfish to allow us to go. We really wish the whole family was there, we know they all would have had a great time. We talked with Papaw and Nana and decided to leave on Saturday afternoon, and only attend the concerts on Sunday. That night within 30 minutes we purchased our tickets, booked our hotel then the count down was on until September:) So here are the pictures of our trip, I hope you enjoy them.

With all of us playing we had a lot of tickets!

Gold City is one of our new favorite groups, they were awesome.

Jason Crabb was really great and he sang our (we girls) favorite song "Ellsworth".

Karen Peck and New River were the high light for me:) They are my favorite group

(other then the Gaither Vocal Band )Greater Vision was great we have heard a few of their songs, they are better in concert.

It was GREAT all the singers at the end got up and sang together.

I loved to hear all the great voices together,

it was amazing and my favorite part of the concert.

It was raining when we left, but the weather was really nice the rest of the time:)

We came home to a river house. (not really we came home to a flooded yard) We have been busy with cleaning up the yard. Please pray for our neighbors, the flood water got in their homes.

Splash Party

We had a busy Saturday with the Splash party, 19 sweet pups came to play and have fun. We had a great time and we're looking forward to next years party. This was our second time hosting this party. Saturday evening we were very tired, because our morning started off early. For a treat Rebekah and I made a trip to get donuts before everyone awoke. So our Saturday started out early and yummy. The whole family came and ate pizza with us for lunch. Our Party started at 9:00am and ended at 4:00pm, we had a lot of pups get a bath and nails they were picked up at 5:00pm. I hope you enjoy looking at our pictures from our party.

Jonathan Swimming

I hope all of you have enjoyed your summer as much as we have. We are very blessed to have a pool to cool off in after a long hot day. The boys are so much fun to watch! Jonathan is a little fish, he was so scared of the pool for a long time. To be honest I never thought he would ever even step foot in the pool. Then one summer Elizabeth just kept getting him into the pool little by little, and before we knew it he was wanting to walk around in the shallow end. As he watched his brothers swim and studied there movements he started swimming in the shallow end. Still a little uncertain about the deep end, one day we got him to where he couldn't touch and we would get him swim back to the shallow end. We continued to take him further out in the deep end to where he knew it was OK. So, I love summer because I know I will be able to watch Jonathan swim, his favorite thing to do. He now jumps off the diving board and slides down the slide. We often ask each other "do you remember when Jonathan would just sit and watch us swim?" It's hard to think back to then. We are so happy Jonathan can now swim with us, and maybe one day even be able to enter swimming in the Special Olympics. Here are a few pictures of Jonathan swimming.

The Almost Original German Chocolate Cake

Ingredients...

4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate

1/2 cup boiling water

1 cup butter

1 cup honey

4 eggs, separated

1 tsp. vanilla

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1 cup buttermilk

Melt chocolate in boiling water; cool. Cream butter and honey. Beat in egg yolks. Stir in vanilla and chocolate. Set aside. Mix flour, salt, and soda. Add to flour mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Beat egg whites until stiff: fold into batter. Pour into three 9" cake pans lined with wax paper on bottom. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes. Remove from pans and let cool. Ice with Coconut Pecan Frosting (recipe below).

Ingredients...

1 cup milk

3/4 cup honey

3 slightly beaten egg yolks

1/2 cup butter

1 tsp. vanilla

1 1/3 cups fresh coconut

1 cup pecans

Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened: milk, honey, egg yolks, butter, and vanilla. Color will change from light yellow to very dark amber. Let it boil for 5 minutes or until it is as thick as it will get, but continue to stir! It will seem a little runny, but it thickens as it cools. Add coconut and pecans. Spread when cool.

To My Two Best Friends Ever

Having you girls as sisters and best friends is the biggest blessing. I don't know what I'd do without you. I know I wouldn't be where I am today in my walk with the Lord had it not been for the both of you. Thanks for encouraging, laughing, singing, comforting, and always listening to me. I treasure our late night talks in bed, and our laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. When I am sad you girls comfort me, when times are hard you pull us together. I love that we can tell each other everything. I love you girls! If I could describe you in one word Elizabeth it would be Leader, you know who you are. Your yes is your yes and your no is your no, you help set a great example for us. With you around I always feel comfortable. Rebekah I would say the word that comes to mind is Joyful. You keep the party going (kidding). You always have a smile on your face, that is very contagious. When I'm upset, you can always make me laugh and look at the bright side.

The verse that comes to mind when I think of us is Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV)

Busy Beading

This is for you Ms. Binns:) Last weekend I worked on beading a lot which is something I like to do. I really enjoy making jewelry . My favorite thing to make are earrings ( as if you couldn't tell by the giveaways). I have a little place set up at the shop for selling my stuff. I do a lot of custom stuff for people. This weekend I made 5 bracelets and 3 pairs of earrings.

I only use glass beads, here are three of the five bracelets I made.

These are the three pair of earrings I made. The crystal and pink beads are called Crackle Beads ~my favorite~

How do you know when you have beaded to much? When you end up with a bracelet like this! I put the same end on each side :( I will be fixing that problem, this is a teal crackle bead bracelet.

Where have the Munck Ladies Been?

You may be asking yourself this ..then again you may not:) We have been around just very busy the past week or so. Our business (Great Doggie Doos) has been busy with boarding, grooming, and Doggie Daycare. We have had 38 dogs boarding this past weekend, and averaging 20 or more dogs in daycare. We had 29 pups on Friday that is a record, and 15 or more dogs grooming a day. The Lord is blessing us so much. When we opened up our business we gave it to the Lord and He has been blessing the store. Not only has the store been busy but we at home have also been busy:) Our garden is booming with fresh veggies right now (yummy) and we have been swimming, doing family fun things, that we will be blogging about hopefully this week. Please, don't hold me to that, we're also trying to stay cool too. I love being in a big family there is always something to do and always some one to talk to:) So, this is just an update and like I said we will be getting back to blogging on a regular basis :) For now I leave you with this verse

~A Fishy Giveaway~

Our Dear sweet Papaw has been teaching us to fly fish. We have been rotating out every Monday who goes fishing. Today Elizabeth and I (Amanda) went fishing. Elizabeth caught 6 fish and I caught 4. So, since we are learning how to fish and enjoying it so much, we wanted to share these pictures! Our summer has been really rainy and wet. When the sun came out last Saturday Amanda suggested lets go outside and take pictures of the flowers. I asked her if she wanted me to take some pictures of her. She said sure. Ruth Ella of course had to tag along. We didn't mind:) she is so much fun!

Below is a picture of me knitting. I learned how to knit in March by a very sweet lady:) It was really neat because I did not have to go search for someone to teach me, Mrs. Binns has been bringing her two sweet pooches to our shop (Great Doggie Doos) for a few years. One day we were talking about all the crafts we enjoy and Knitting came up. Rebekah and I said we would like to learn how to knit. Mrs. Binns said she and another lady were teaching a knitting class and she would love for us to attend. We were only able to attend the class once. Mrs. Binns was so sweet to come and teach us the next step in knitting. Since March Mrs. Binns and her husband have been planing on moving back to Kentucky to be closer to family. So I really appreciated all the time she spent with us. She has taught me how to pearl and rib stich. I must say rib stiching is giving me a little bit of a hard time:) (Patience is a virtue) Mrs. Binns and her husband left for Kentucky last Wednesday. I will miss her. I will not forget how kind she was, the day she was packing up the U-haul she took time to teach me to rib stich. I truly enjoy knitting. I don't think I would have ever taken the time to learn if it was not for her.

Thank you Mrs. Binns for teaching me! I will miss you and your Family:(

1 cup of white vinegar

1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 pound pickling or baby cucumbers, ends trimmed and quartered lengthwise

8 garlic cloves

2 teaspoons black peppercorns

2 large seed heads fresh dill, with some stalk

1 In medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine 1 cup water, vinegar, sugar, and salt and bring to a boil. Stir until sugar and salt dissolve, about 2 minutes. Let cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes.

2 Divide cucumber spears, garlic, and peppercorns between 2 sterilized pint-size canning jars. Stuff a dill seed head into center of each jar. Pour cooled vinegar mixture over jar contents to cover. Screw lids onto jars and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before using. Keeps refrigerated, for up to one year. Firm cucumbers such as 'bush pickle' and 'snow's fancy pickling' work best.

We enjoyed this recipe because it was a fast process and the next day we could eat the pickles. Unlike canning as to where you have to wait weeks before they are ready. Unfortunately our fridge can not hold jars of pickles to last our big family through winter. So we will still be canning. But this pickle recipe was good for a change. I am sure we will use it through out the summer as our garden keeps producing pickling cucumbers.

Last year we went to some family/friends house. (we have known them for longer then I can remember, their like family) They live in the country and behind their house is a horse pasture. I always enjoy taking the boys to see the horses.

Our little garden is not so little anymore!

Two years ago our sweet Uncle David built us some above ground gardening boxes.

We have never had a garden before until the boxes. Due to our backyard flooding. We've always loved having a creek in our backyard, but it is not too much fun when it rains. My siblings and I will always have the memories of us chasing our toys as the flood carried them off. It wasn't to bad, we got all the kids toys from up stream lol :)

We all enjoyed working together as a team...
from filling in the boxes with dirt,
to planting the plants and seeds.
Taking turns watering each night...
to weeding in the morning.
Its like it grew over night!

It is so nice to have fresh veggies.

You may be wondering what is in our garden... we have 3 kinds of tomatoes, 2 kinds of cucumbers, zucchini, bell peppers, a variety of herbs, and a variety hot peppers. Each year we hope to expand! Since we are still new to gardening we are trying to start out slowly:)

As you all know I love to sew! So any chance I get I am on my machine (well not literally on it). Anyway Elizabeth and Amanda are always asking me to sew them a skirt. With all the projects I get into sometimes I can get overwhelmed, so I had a great idea! I would teach them how to sew a skirt. Below are some pictures of us sewing skirts together:)

We did not have an actual pattern, but we had an old skirt that our Great grandmother had bought when she was a young lady! A few years ago she gave it to Elizabeth. Amanda and I have always loved the skirt! So we used the old skirt as a pattern and it worked out really well since it was a simple skirt.

This is Ruth Ella's new bunny or should I say she thinks its just her bunny it's really a family pet. We got her the last Saturday in May at the Mennonite farm animal sale.

Yard Sale

Over the past several years our family has changed in many ways. One of those ways is simplifying our home and life. It seems each spring as we change out our winter clothes for the summer ones we see many things that we haven't worn. This year when we began to go through our clothes we saw more than just clothes we needed to purge. Elizabeth had an idea to have a yard sale. It was a lot of work but we had a good time. Since the money we earned came from multiple members of the family we have decided to put the money back and use it on a family outing or event.

Rebekah says the trailer is all packed down and ready to go. (We are very blessed to live so close to the store "Great Doggie Doos" where we held the yard sale.)

Madison and James worked so hard helping move things and staying outside and talking with people this morning.

Lots of Stuff:) Its amazing when everyone works together how quick this thing was put together.

We set up a lot of the stuff last night but there was still some miner things to get ready:)

Mississippi Mud Bars

To warn all you chocolate lovers... this dessert can become addictive:)

This is one of Ruth Ella's favorite desserts!

1 Cup butter

1 Cup milk

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup water

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 Cups sugar

2 Cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

3 Cups miniature marshmallows

1 1/2 Cups chopped pecans

makes about 4 1/2 dozen bars

CAKE

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 15 by 11-inch jelly-roll pan.

In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in milk, cocoa, water, and eggs. Bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, and soda. Pour butter mixture over sugar mixture, whisking to combine. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes. Immediately sprinkle marshmallows and pecans evenly over hot cake. Pour hot Mississippi mud frosting over cake, spreading with a knife if necessary. Let cool in pan completely. Cut into squares to serve.

FROSTING

1/2 Cup butter

1/2 cup evaporated milk

1/3 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 1/2 Cups confectioners' sugar

In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in milk, cocoa, and vanilla. Bring to a boil, whisking constantly. Remove from heat. Whisk in confectioners' sugar until smooth.

A New skirt and hair bow!

One of my most favorite things to do is sew. I love coming up with my own patterns. Momma had bought this onesie for Ruth Ella. I decided I would use some scrap materiel I had to make a skirt to go with it. I also made the hair bow with some extra ribbon I had.

Fly Fishing with Papaw

Monday morning Papaw, Madison, and I (Rebekah) headed to the Hiwassee river to fly fish. Our papaw loves to fly fish. He is very good at it too! He has been teaching my siblings and I how to. I will have to say it's a lot harder than it looks! Madison

Over 50 pictures from our weekend!

For us summer is in full swing! We have been really busy down at our family business "Great Doggie Doos" well its really God's business, we just run it! Between all the summer shave downs and keeping dogs while their owners our on vacation, we try to plan fun things to do on the weekends. So I thought I would let you see what we did this past weekend!

Of course I had to start my post with these pictures of this cutie pie!

On Sunday she turned 4 weeks old! She is now beginning to smile...unfortunately I can never catch it on camera:(

We went to the Mennonite market to pick up some fresh veggies and plants for our garden.

Madison mowed the lawn. I (Elizabeth) planted our new plants.

We cut Strawberries for canning and freezing some for smoothies!

Ruth Ella loves being with the big girls! When I think of Ruth Ella this would be the picture to pop up in my head! She gets tickled so easily!

Mary Ann turned 3 weeks old on Sunday. Its seems like just yesterday she came into this world. We must treasure everyday with family and loved ones...time goes by way to quickly!

Saturday we were on our way to the Mennonite market and we passed by a church's sign and on it read : "Eternity is a long time to think about what you should have done". Scary how true that sign is! Really makes me step back and evaluate my life and purpose. I hope those words will encourage you as they have me!

My NEW wheels!!!

This is my new bike (pictures below), I got it two weeks ago and love it. I just sold my old bike because it was a mountain bike and since I don't ride in the mountains...I really really wanted a road bike! I asked Daddy if he would help me start looking for a new bike, we looked at a lot of different bikes, but none of them suited my taste:) Until one day Daddy told me he found "my bike"! He told me about it and then, he took me to look at it and I was sold. One day after work Dad and I headed to pick it up. Oh you'll never guess were Dad found it... Wal*Mart! It is a Schwinn road bike and was $149.00 my dad says you get what you pay for, and in my opinion its the best bike ever. The basket on the front was sold separately:) We have a thing here called the "green way" its a place where people can ride bikes and walk etc. We are so blessed to live real close to it! If you are looking for a great bike look no further! I give this bike five stars*****

Popovers

Popovers are great for breakfast, there easy to make and we always have all the ingredients to make them. The recipe is below.

1 tbsp. shortening or non-cooking spray

2 beaten eggs

1 cup milk

1 tbsp cooking oil

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp salt

Using 1/2 tsp shortening for each cup, grease the bottoms and sides of six ounce custard cups or cups of a popover pan (we use a muffin pan and it works just as well)

In a medium bowl use a wire whisk or rotary beater to beat eggs, milk, and oil until combined. Add flour and salt until smooth.

Fill the prepared half full with batter. Bake in a 400 degree F oven about 40 minutes or until very firm.

Immediately after removing from oven, prick each popover to let steam escape. For crisper popovers turn off the oven and return popovers to oven for 5 to 10 minutes or until desired crispness is reached. Remove popovers from cups and enjoy!

We like eating our popovers with honey or jam.

90 degree weather = Cold drinks!

I received two Starbucks gift cards on my birthday. Well I saved them until now. My favorite drink at Starbucks is their vanilla bean frappe. Since that is a cold drink I decided I would wait to use the cards for a warm day.

On to the present, Daddy said he needed to pick up something from Tractor Supply. So Ruth Ella and I just tagged along...since Starbucks is just down the street I asked Dad if he wanted a drink, he said that sounded good. Oh and Daddy sure did enjoy his! Me on the other hand...well I think I got three sips!?!

Next time Ruth Ella gets her own!!!

In fact it was way more tasty watching her drink it!

Ruth Ella loves to play with her Ken and Barbie figures. I have been watching her play with them for the past week and one thing I've notice is that she can't play with just one of them, She has to play with both of them. One time she couldn't find Ken but she had Barbie and she was calling Ken! Ken! (as if he was going to come out and say here I am) I love to watch her play with them she plays with them different then she plays with her princesses, It's like shes playing like they love each other. I think that the Lord in stills that in us even at a young age, Man for woman and Woman for Man.

Fly Fishing

My Papaw and Nana try to come over every Wednesday night for food and fellowship. They live 45minutes away. So,we always look forward to Wednesday night! One of my Papaws favorite things to do is fly fish! He has also converted my Nana into a fly fisher. She is really good, not to mention she's left handed.

Last month when Papaw and Nana came over for dinner, Papaw brought with him some fishing rods. After we ate we went outside and Papaw taught us how to put the rods together and how to cast the fly. We had a lot of fun!

Well, we are all ready to go to the river now! After Memorial weekend we plan to go with Papaw and Nana to the river and try it out...in water!

Below are pictures of Wisteria. I love the smell of a wisteria! The color is also so beautiful! Because I loved it so much I decided to cut some of it off and send it to my friend Jen, who lives in Canada. Well, do to handling and time, when she finally received it she said it was all brown and gushy!!!

Last night after dinner, Daddy surprised us with these tickets! The Tickets are to a benefit concert with Mark Lowry! We are so excited! All proceeds will go to the Bradley County tornado victims. Thanks Daddy!!!

Mark Lowry Concert

A week ago today, Daddy took all three of us girls and our brother Madison to a benefit concert with Mark Lowry! It was so much fun, he was so funny. Dad and Mom have seen him a few times in concert. This was our first time going to see just him:) we saw him with the Gaither Vocal Band last November with our good friends the Pauls. Here are a few pictures from the concert, Thank you so much Daddy for taking us:)

All the money spent on the concert tickets went to the tornado victims in Cleveland.

This is the voices of Lee (Lee University's Choir) They were really good.

This is "The Life Care Choir" they sang songs from the "Sister act the movie" (Never seen it) but their voices were very good.

We sat in the balcony on the front row. The place was packed the doors opened at 6:00pm and they said they had people lining up at 4:30!

The boys, Ruth Ella and I have so much fun with the golf cart:) We act like we are explorers, and together we run from wild beast (such as lions), and we pick new kinds of flowers the US has never seen before. The boys have a fun time making up places to go. So come along and enjoy the ride!

This is sometimes the plains of Africa or the coast of Hawaii

This little water fall is sometimes Niagara falls or a huge waterfall in the rain forest.

These trees that line up along the creek are sometimes apple trees and banana trees that the explorers have to get food from to survive.This is the creek that we follow all along the back of peoples yards. Some times we pretend that its the Niel river.

2011 Federal Junior Duck Stamp Competition

Saturday was a wonderful day! The weather was nice, the traffic was not bad. We pulled into The Bass Pro Shop about 9 minutes before 9:00am. The Ceremony started at 10:00am so we had some time to kill:) We wanted to be sure we got there early so we could all get a seat together.

This board has all of the first place duck winners from K-12 grade. The Picture in the Middle with the purple ribbon on it won Best in Show. (out of all the Pictures)

These are some pictures laid out on tables for people to look at, from honorable mention to 3rd and 2nd place. There were some amazing pictures, and a lot of talented people there. It was so neat to see all the colors in the pictures! Colors I have never notice before. One thing I have learned through Elizabeth's art is all the different shades that is in a duck such as purple, blue and pink. The Lord truly made everything Beautiful!Every year they have donuts for a ceremony treat:) The boys always get so excited about them. On the way there I heard Wesley say "Hey Johnny you excited about the donuts?" Sadly this time they had no donuts, but...cookies that were very good. I didn't hear the boys complain:)

This is Elizabeth's duck, I think Elizabeth's duck was the best! The water was so neat to watch her do with every color she added. The ducks she drew were so pretty. I love you Elizabeth and I think you did a great Job! The Lord has gifted you with such a talent. Since Elizabeth's picture will be traveling around the state they had protected it by putting plastic over it. So sorry this picture is not good quality not to mention the sun was hitting it!

U.S. Fish and Wildlife service hold this ceremony every year and get the honor of judging, and giving the artist there awards.

This is Johanna one of Elizabeth's good art friends. Johanna won best in show. We were all excited for her!
